If you’re anything like me the excesses of the festive period have taken their toll! Huge dinners, far too much to drink, over indulging on delicious desserts and that’s before mentioning the extra treats! Therefore, now it’s January I’m back to the gym with a vengeance but also starting to look more carefully at what I’m eating which brings me nicely on to one of my Christmas purchases a Breville Blend Active.
To me the purchase was a no brainer, after all… anything that makes getting your 5 a day more fun has to be a good thing! What’s more the kids love it. So far the biggest problem I’ve encountered is trying to limit the number of smoothies my 10 Year old can have. Up until now he’d looked at fruit and veg with extreme suspicion… not any more!
I’ve been impressed with the results from this great value £20 smoothie maker!
I have to say there is something rather pleasing and fun about the Breville Blend Active Personal looks. It obvious that smoothie makers are marketed towards health conscious, active people, and the Blend Active Personal certainly looks the part! It comes in a variety of accent colours blue, green, pink and orange and the supplied bottles have slender waists and finger indentations, presumably so you can keep a grip on them while slurping down kale during your morning run.
What’s in the box?
To be fair, considering it costs just £20 it looks and feels very well made. The smoothie maker base is compact and isn’t much larger than a bag of sugar, it’s fair to say it won’t take over your kitchen worktop! Also included are two tough-feeling plastic bottles with lids much like a normal sports water bottle and of course a blending blade.
Whilst the instruction manual is short it is to the point and to be honest if you’re anything like me you probably won’t bother reading it (not that I would ever advise that)! But needless to say it was simple to set-up and after a quick bottle wash the first smoothie was ready.
Ease of use
The Breville Blend Active smoothie maker is extremely easy to use. Simply fill up to the maximum fill line, screw on the blade attachment, turn the whole bottle upside down and fit to the blender base. All that’s left is to down the blend button and you’re smoothie is ready.
It’s easy to give this product 5 out of 5 for its price point! It’s an excellent smoothie make and produces great drinks. Whilst it may not be quite at the level of much more expensive machines it’s a fantastic bargain and I would happily recommend it!
