We had the pleasure of getting to know the beautiful Kylie Britain a petite short haired mature model. With a supportive family Kylie has gone on to pursue a successful modelling career.
2.At what age did you first start modelling?
I started modelling and acting as a young child and stared in numerous ITV dramas as an extra.
3.What was your first big break and how did it arise?
My first big break for “The Adventures of Kylie Britain” was last year when a photographer approached me asking if I would model for a “wet shoot” on location based on a story he had been told. We decided to turn the shoot into an adventure and turn it into a video of the stills with some video footage as well. This in turn led to photographers approaching me to explore doing other adventures with them, which has now culminated in having my own video channel on my website with subscribers. I currently have 26 videos on my channel.
4.What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
I have had quite a few including playing a body double for a celebrity on Channel Five, appearing on QVC and having the opportunity of working with lots of talented photographers. I also work very closely with my husband who produces all my videos.
5.How do you like to stay fit?
I am an avid runner and enjoy running 10 to 15k three times a week with my husband. There is nothing better than pounding the pavements to destress.
6.What’s your favourite food?
I love Indian and Chinese dishes but also like to eat healthy dishes to keep my figure trim. I am also prone to protein shakes and bars.
7.Any advice for people wanting to start modelling?
Be prepared for a lot of hassle from people you may think are friends. I have lost lots of “so called” friends and have been a victim of intimidation and harassment. Modelling is hard work and not at all glamorous, you can be outside in all sorts of weather conditions but seeing the end results is worth it.
8.What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
The funniest thing that has happened to me lately is I was on a shoot in the snow with only a coat and heels when we seemed to all of a sudden be bombarded with dog walkers. Obvious we stopped working but the dog walkers were reluctant to disappear quickly. It took about 20 minutes before we could resume the shoot; once the images were produced we found that the dog walkers had not gone but hidden behind trees. One of their faces was in the shot with a shocked look on their faces when I was walking through the snow in heels only!!
9.What’s song best describes you?
Probably one you have not heard of by Ellie Goulding “I Do What I Love”
10.What would you be if you weren’t a model?
I would probably have been a bereavement counsellor after suffering the lose of my first child in 2004.
11.Tell me something about you not many people know?
I am a published author with my husband. We wrote a book called “Distant Dreams” after loosing our first child.
12.What do you like doing in your free time?
I love spending time with my family and being make up free!!
13.What do you think is the most interesting thing about you?
The most interesting thing about me is I am a happy go lucky lady, taking each day as it comes. I am also a very strong character.
14.What was your nickname at school?
My nickname at school was “titch” as I was so small compared to other girls.
15.What three things do you need to be successful in this industry?
Determination, Resilience and Perseverance
