The gorgeous Maegan Coker was born and raised in Greenville, SC and now has a quaint homestead in Atlanta, GA. Maegan is a lover of nature, animals, gardening, old souls, and enjoys nothing more than making wonderful memories with her family & friends.

1. When did you first realise you wanted to be a model?
From a child, I dreamed of becoming a model & actress. Unfortunately, being raised under an extremely (religious) strict household, these type of desires were not encouraged and highly discouraged! Therefore, at the age of 18 I moved out on my own, started supported myself completely, and started to pursue my dreams.

2. At what age did you first start modelling?
My modelling interests started at the age of 21 and now I’m 32. Noticed by well known photographer, I was brought into the fold and the rest is history. And I took a break to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Now I’m back juggling photoshoots & filming bookings along with auditions and loving every minute of it!

3. What was your first big break and how did it arise?
Hmm… tough question. Its really about networking, keeping healthy working relationships (business is business), keeping a reliable rapport & reputation, sustaining a professional and classy style, and you would be surprise how far a “word of mouth” will go – Plus my Manager, Reginald Carson (with Stylistocrat Modeling Agency), has been such an impression. He is a valuable mentor, business savvy, my confidant, and coach. When we started working together, new opportunities brought my career to the next level.

4. What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement goes to all my investors! Together my brand has been perfected – i.e. my manager, modeling agencies, fashion designers, hairstylist, makeup artist, and ALL the passionate photographers. I’ve had the pleasure of working along side with some of the most talented individuals and lets not forget all my social media followers & supporters. I love you ALL!

5. How do you like to stay fit?
Staying in shape is a major priority of mine. It cleans the mind, body, and soul which keeps you healthy and less stressed. Daily cardio workouts routines (low weights, high reps) along with a gluten & dairy free, and low sugar & carb is my lifestyle. When these boxes are checked, my confidence holds no bounds!

6. What’s your favorite food?
Fruit and berries seem to be my go to in the favorite foods category, but I LOVE avocados. It goes with pretty much anything and it’s super great for the body.

7. Any advice for people wanting to start modeling?
If you are interested in modeling, really take the time to understand it’s industry and the associated responsibilities behind the camera. Pretty faces or sexy body types are expendable but knowing how to work your body (with different poses) takes practice & patience, keep skin glowing & hydrated (its an investment), and maintain a tone body (which can be a sacrifice for certain body types). Give your investors and/or prospects confidence of choosing you to represent their product(s). Modeling is really about showing off the handy work of others (those you have spent time arranging photoshoots, organizing specific clothing, and hair & makeup styles). Lastly, smile, laugh, don’t sweat the small stuff, and be respectable of everyone around you (no matter what). A kind word goes a long way!

8. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
Recently, a few photo shoots ago (in downtown Atlanta, GA), the environment was popping with people, awesome weather, and everyone passing by wanted their picture taken too. Lol! The photoshoot was consistently being interrupt with hand given business cards, shoutouts from stopped or ongoing traffic, local business owners and pedestrians were standing abroad watching and everyone was having a blast! Shoutouts were being yelled left and right. This entire event had awesome energy, great working atmosphere, and everyone gave me the giggles while blushing. And it was excellent (unspoken) marketing project too!

9.What’s song best describes you?
Music is a sole passion of mine! Although I cannot sing nor play an instrument (only a little bit of piano). I do have a few personal favorites: 1) OceanLab (album Sirens of the Sea) I am What I am 2) Delerium (Music Box Opera) Chrysalis Heart 3) Michael Jackson (The Essential Michael Jackson) Man In the Mirror 3) Mariah Carey (Charmbracelet) Through the Rain

10.What would you be if you weren’t a model?
When I’m not modeling nor acting, I am a full time mother to a precious little girl (20 months old since the 4th of this month) and wife to a very supporting husband. In Corporate America my strong skill sets are human resources, recruiting, and business operations. A profitable business structure is very sexy to me.

11.Tell me something about you not many people know?
I am not one to stay stagnant for too long. I have a thirsty desire in expanding my knowledge to consistently improve in all things. I adore reading intellectual business concepts and forward thinking literature. And let’s remember working out in my flower beds is always a simple pleasure!

12.What do you like doing in your free time?
In my free time… Is there is such a thing?! Any availability is dedicated to my family & friends. I’m a true believer in a “work hard, play hard” concept. Lol. Otherwise, I am researching, reading, studying, practicing on different model poses, and staying up-to-date with current fashions & makeup techniques… yes, even worldly current events (news).

13.What do you think is the most interesting thing about you?
I do not see myself as a model (in general) but rather a professional role model. My background story is of child abuse (emotional & physical), family mental-illness challenges (parents), unethical (abusive) religious views & punishments, and one divorce. Anyone could have gone crazy after during all of this, however, by faith (on my own accord), tenacity, strength, and the will to succeed… I refuse to stand nothing less then tall.

14.What was your nickname at school?
Hahaha… Well when I was younger, “sunshine” because I smiled a lot and now it’s “MC” as in Maegan Coker.

15.What three things do you need to be successful in this industry?
The three things needed to be successful in this industry is: 1) positive attitude 2) a tough skin 3) learn to be business savvy making everything an opportunity (even for acting) and when a photoshoot is scheduled – due your diligence. It’s key for a profitable business outcome! Never do anything that bring later regrets.
